Peace Train departs from China; Iran emerges as the transit crossroads to Europe and the region

Peace Train from China to Iran
The first freight train of the “Peace Train” project has departed from China towards Iran; Incheh-Borun designated as the main hub of the new China–Europe corridor.

In line with the strategic objectives of the Lasting Peace Group in developing international transport infrastructure, the first freight train of the “Peace Train” project has successfully departed from China to the Islamic Republic of Iran. This train forms part of the greater China–Iran–Europe corridor, jointly launched through the key collaboration of the Lasting Peace Group (based in China), Samand Rail Company (based in Iran), China National Railway, and the International Corridor Development Company.

The train’s route begins in Xi’an, China, and, according to the scheduled timeline, is expected to arrive at Iran’s Incheh-Borun border station within 10 days. From there, depending on the final domestic destination of the cargo, transit to central or southern Iranian cities will take an additional 1 to 3 days.

This project marks the first time in Iran’s overland transport history that both ends of the forwarding operations are managed by Iranian private companies—an important step towards the direct empowerment of the private sector in logistics and enhancing the country’s operational independence in international transportation.

Also for the first time, Incheh-Borun has been designated as the official entry point for trains on the China–Europe corridor into Iran, assuming a central role in connecting East to West and strengthening Iran’s role as a regional transit hub.

This initiative is a natural extension of the strategic partnership between the Lasting Peace Group and Samand Rail Company, which was established in recent months to revive the geopolitical significance of the Islamic Republic of Iran in critical trade routes toward Europe, the Persian Gulf, the Sea of Oman, Iraq, and Afghanistan.

Future plans indicate that subsequent freight trains will be launched from China to Europe, the Gulf states, and Iraq via Iran—a significant move toward redefining Iran’s position in the global supply chain and establishing an efficient East-West rail link.

“Peace Train”: Initiating a sustainable rail connection among nations, led by Iranian private sector pioneers.
